What is AIDS
AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is the final stage of an infection caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). It is an illness that impairs the body's ability to fight Infection, making the body extremely susceptible to life threatening disease. There is no cure for HIV or AIDS, and anyone can become infected.

The AIDS Circle of Hope of North Central Texas is a community of people who desire to:

  • Provide assistance to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS
  • Enable persons living with HIV/AIDS and their loved ones to experience the care and compassion of God through the community of faith and to maintain their dignity and fullness of life.
  • Be advocates on behalf of those infected by HIV/AIDS to the community at large.
  • Raise public awareness and develop community resources and support for HIV infected persons, their families and persons at risk.

Services provided by Circle of Hope
Since autumn of 1993, the AIDS Circle of Hope has become an ecumenical ministry of persons seeking to serve their neighbors infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.  In identifying and implementing necessary services, each participant is asked to consider, not, "Who around me is worthy to be my neighbor?" but, rather, "Am I being a worthy neighbor to those around me?"  As a result, the following services are provided by the AIDS Circle of Hope.

    meeting their nutritional needs.
